For those who don’t know, Paul Smith is a label which has become synonymous with classic British tailoring and style. Kind of like the legendary Land Rover Defender.
As it turns out, Sir Paul Smith is both a Defender fan and owner, which led to their collaboration on this ‘one off’ model featuring hand-finished artwork crafted by LR‘s Special Vehicle Operations.
The colors used on the car are said to be inspired by the British countryside which only made sense to us after we read that exact statement in the official press release – since you know, this isn’t exactly the manliest Defender we’ve ever seen.
But in the words of Sir Paul Smith himself, “The Defender is a British icon, which is something I’m exceptionally proud of. I keep a Defender at my home in Italy which is in the middle of the countryside, so it’s the perfect vehicle to cope with the rugged terrain.”
At first glance, it’s hard to tell that the vehicle features 27 different colors on the exterior panels which were supposed to “work together yet be surprising”.
In our humble opinion, they are surprising and we’re not really sure how well they work together, but we’ll try not to judge.
