French racing driver Franck Montagny will not be allowed to compete in any form of motorsport for a period of two years, having tested positive for a banned substance.
The FIA Anti-Doping Committee (ADC) in Paris. found that Montagny tested positive for Benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, after being selected for doping control at the Putrajaya ePrix in November 2014.
Montagny, who was provisionally suspended, was found to have violated Article 2.1 of the 2014 FIA Anti-Doping Regulations.
In addition to the two-year sanction, which expires on December 23 2016, Montagny has been disqualified from the final classification of the Putrajaya ePrix.
He has 21 days in which to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
