The Aston Martin Vanquish caught Henrik Fisker’s attention – after all, Fisker is a former Aston Martin designer – and the result is a new concept called Thunderbolt.
Yesterday we saw how Galpin Auto Sports took the standard Mustang and transformed it into The Rocket but today we’re crossing the pond to Aston Martin’s territory, where Henrik Fisker revealed the Thunderbolt concept based on the handsome-looking Vanquish.
Fisker’s latest work will make a debut at the 2015 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, a good occasion for the British coupe to wear fancy new clothes. By that we mean a carbon fiber body kit with a front grille as big as China to dominate the front end plus a power dome on the hood, with two air intakes on each side.
The Thunderbolt also received new LED taillights and a spoiler mounted on the trunk, but the overall appearance doesn’t deviate much from the traditional Aston Martin design cues. This means that everybody can tell that there’s a Vanquish hiding under that mask.
